TRACE, NGOs GIVE SUPPORT TO ACCIDENT VICTIMS IN OGUN

A humanitarian team, comprising Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), as well as an American and Abeokuta based Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Miracle From Willing Hearts Initiative and Ogun Road Workers, respectively, have given one million naira financial aid to some vulnerable accident victims in hospitals across the state.

Delivering cash gifts to the beneficiaries in Abeokuta, Remo, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, on behalf of the founder, Miracle From Willing Hearts Initiative, Dr. Olugbenga Dawudu and Dr. (Mrs.) Omotola Dawodu, the Coordinator, Ogun Road Workers, Prince Akin Oyekan, said the gesture was part of the group’s mission to ameliorate the sufferings of accident victims by meeting their specific needs and a way of giving back to the society.

      On his part, the Commander and Chief Executive, TRACE, Commander 'Seni Ogunyemi, represented by the Deputy Public Relations Officer in the Agency, Commander Adeeko Babatunde, while speaking during the visit to the Female Surgical and Accident Emergency Wards at the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, (OSUTH), Sagamu, said the yearly support by the team aimed at identifying with needy accident victims, share in their pains, give them moral support and assist them financially.

      "We are here to identify with you; sympathise and support in this time of your need. We want to wish you quick recovery and let you know that God knows your condition and we believe, He will see you through", he said.

     In their remarks, the Head, Clinical Services, Federal Medical Centre, Idi- Aba, Dr. Adekunle Adediran; Chief Nursing Officer, General Hospital Ijaiye, Mrs. Rukayat Popoola; Head of Department, Medical Social Services, OSUTH, Mr. Odunlami Olufunmilayo and Director, Nursing Services, Ijebu-Ode General Hospital, Mr. Talabi Olabamidele, appreciated the generosity of the NGOs.

   Other hospitals visited include, State General Hospital, Ijaye; Iperu Remo General Hospital; Ota and Ifo General Hospitals, Joseph and Christiana specialist hospital, Abeokuta, Aries Medical hospital, Obada- Oko, Famobis hospital Mowe, Rona hospital, Ijebu- Ode, among others.
