Presenting the cheques on behalf of the government to the beneficiaries, at the Muhammadu Buhari 100 Bed Mother and Child General Hospital, Iperu, Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, stated that the State government had earlier cleared the hospital bills of the victims, saying Governor Dapo Abiodun is committed to the welfare and well-being of the people of the State.
Meanwhile, the First Lady inspected the hospital facilities where she welcomed a newborn baby with a financial gift for the parents, enjoined the citizens to always pay attention to their health at all times.
Speaking with newsmen, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Tomi Coker called on the residents to key into the State's Health Insurance Scheme as the insurance policy covers so many health care services that patients might not be able to afford.
Dr. Coker said, ’’the insurance policy has been designed in a way that will be affordable for the people saying an individual is expected to pay a thousand naira while a family pays four thousand naira on monthly basis’’.
Appreciating the gesture, Vice Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Bolanle Fakoya, said the financial support would be a relief to the accident victims, while the beneficiaries, Mr. Waheed Sogbesan and the mother of the newborn, Mrs. Wuraola Musa-Gbenga both commended the Governor’s wife for extending hands of fellowship to them.
