TECHNICAL EDUCATION: SA HIGHLIGHTS SIGNIFICANCE OF INTERNATIONAL TOUR

The Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa says the facilitation of the Germany tour for 8 Principals and 11 Instructors by the State government was to equip them with modern and international skills needed to train students, improve their capacity, as well as expose them to state-of-the-art equipment in the State’s Technical Colleges.

Prof. Odemuiyiwa revealed this in Abeokuta, while welcoming the State’s contingent, charging them to effectively pass on the knowledge, skills, and experiences garnered during the tour to other teachers and students.

“I congratulate you all on this laudable feat that you have added to your teaching career. This is another testament to Prince Dapo Abiodun–led administration’s commitment to partner with the private sector, towards improving the capacity of its workforce. I appreciate your disposition during the training”, he said.

He lauded the German Agency for International Cooperation under the auspices of GIZ/SKYE and the State government for the tour, promising to sustain the capacities of the technical instructors by linking them with requisite skills, as the government would not relent at changing the phase of technical and vocational education across the State.

Also speaking, Ogun State  Senior Technical Advisor, GIZ/SKYE, Mr. Ibrahem Aliyu applauded the Principals and Instructors for exhibiting good conduct while in Germany, enjoining them to ensure seamless transmission of knowledge gained to students.

Speaking on behalf of the contingents, Messrs Omotola Samuel and Jaiyeola Akeem, Principal, Government Science, and Technical College Ijebu-Ode and  Instructor, Government Science and Technical Government, Ayetoro, respectively, commended the sponsors, saying their exposure to Didactic and Pedagogy, Change Management, and Dual System of vocational trainings, among others, would benefit the State and the country in their technical and vocational education drive.
