Declaring the training open at the Commission's headquarters in Abeokuta, OGSIEC Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed that the session was essential, giving the importance of the upcoming LG election, where members of the Commission would be engaged in various functions.
Osibodu revealed that, though the Commission was making necessary arrangements to ensure free, fair and credible election, it was also mindful of the need to ensure the safety of lives of its personnel, as well as the electorate.

"Our synergy with the NSCDC, Ogun State Command has been very helpful, I sincerely hope this will not just outline the election but also culminate into building security consciousness in the people", Osibodu added.

I sincerely salute the management of the Commission for this feat, on our part, we will ensure that, apart from the training, adequate personnel are deployed to ensure violence-free election’’, he said.
