OGIRS SEEKS SUPPORT OF HoS ON EFFECTIVENESS

In order to build a sustainable system that would pass the test of time, there is need to build a successor plan, by absorbing more vibrant and energetic young officers into the employ of the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS).

The Executive Chairman of OGIRS, Mr. Anthony Olaleye stated this during a courtesy visit to the State Head of Service (HoS), Alhaja Selimot Ottun, in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mr. Olaleye solicited the support of the HoS in the area of posting more officers that have capacity to deliver in terms of technical know-how, as activities of the agency were technically based and would require specialised expertise.

According to him, the agency would add some ingenuity in their mode of operation; deploy automation in some processes to ensure all taxable residents pay appropriate taxes, in an efficient and transparent manner.

He assured taxpayers a customer experience, where OGIRS would be like a one-stop-shop in terms of ease of doing business in the State.

The HoS in her response commended the agency for the giant strides recorded despite all odds occasioned by COVID-19, charging them to take advantage of the pull factor of the border States and country to achieve its set goals.
