Ogun Governor's Wife Appreciates Covid-19 Response Team on Humanitarian Day

In commemoration of the 2020 World Humanitarian Day, the Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has 
commended and appreciated the aid and health workers in the front line of the Covid-19 response team in Ogun State.
   Mrs. Abiodun represented by the Wife of the Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Mrs. Oluwaseun Kadiri at the event held today at the Conference Hotel, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, noted the importance of joining the rest of the World in recognizing the invaluable support of the workers towards protecting the citizens in need during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
   She emphasized her gratitude to the individuals for the humility, dedication and tireless efforts they put in to continuously provide life saving support and protection to humanity despite all odds and putting others ahead of themselves thanking them for heeding the call.
  "Our deepest gratitude goes to the aid and health workers as we reflect on the tireless efforts they have put in to continuously provide life saving support and protection to citizens in need regardless of the association risk and personal cost."
   According to her, ways should be sought to align with the strategic priorities of the Global Humanitarian Response Plan to Covid-19, articulated in three key areas which were, containing the spread of the pandemic and decreasing morbidity and mortality, decreasing the deterioration of human assets and rights, social cohesion and livelihoods and protecting and advocating for refugees and the vulnerable to the pandemic.
   Mrs. Abiodun while presenting letters of appreciation and gift of cash to the heroes, assured of the state government's commitment towards supporting them with the required resources and assistance in any way possible.
   The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker in her goodwill message commended the front line workers on the Covid-19 response in the state for the support and team spirit with which they all worked to combat the pandemic in the state assuring of their renewed commitment to the service of humanity.
   In his address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Adesanya Ayinde, said he had reasons to thank God for his intervention in Ogun state in spite of the state recording the index case of the pandemic.
   He lauded the sense of appreciation of Mrs. Abiodun for recognizing the contributions of the Covid-19 front line workers in the state and pledged the continued commitment of the staff of the Ogun State Ministry of Health to the wellbeing of the citizenry.
