STEMMING CORONAVIRUS: OGUN DEPUTY GOV HARPS ON PREVENTIVE MEASURE ADHERENCE

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has reiterated the importance of practicing preventive measure towards stemming the tide of the spread of Coronavirus, with a charge on the citizens of the State to always use face masks, hand sanitisers, regular wash of hands and practice respiratory hygiene. 


          Engr. Salako-Oyedele, who made this known in her remarks while playing hosts to Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture ( OGUNCCIMA ) in her office said, it became imperative to apply preventive measures, noting that another way to avert the clusters in the State was for the people not to be open to contamination,

          She advised that anyone observed to be displaying the virus’ symptoms should call the NCDC help line and not go to private hospitals, saying, "we are really in unprecedented time and we look forward to work with private sector on how to get the state back on the track, as well as flattening the curve and curbing the spread of the disease’’.

          ‘’This State is known for first in so many things and as the industrial capital of Nigeria, we would be responsible for kick starting the economy, once the lockdown is over", the Deputy Governor said.

          Earlier in his address, the president, OGUNCCIMA, Hon. Kolawole Lawal, represented by the first Deputy President, Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye, commended the State government for the sustained efforts on the fight against the pandemic since the index case was recorded in the State.

          He said the effectiveness of the strategic efforts of the State government to contain the spread of the disease was evident in the number of cases so far recorded in the State, extolling government on its strides towards bringing succour to the people of the state at this trying time through various palliatives.

          Hon. Lawal maintained that, as a responsible private sector, OGUNCCIMA will always support the State government in its unrelenting moves to  stop the the spread of coronavirus in the State and Nigeria as a whole, noting that, the industry has supported the state government with 250 cartons of Noodles, 480 hand sanitisers,  50 crates of eggs, five kegs of 25 litres palm oil, 20 pieces of 2.5kg of garri, two bags of beans, four Mouka Foams, 10 packs of water and 25 packs of carbonated drinks.
