RELIEF ITEMS: UAC SUPPORTS OGUN WITH GALA,OTHER PRODUCTS

UAC Foods has joined the league of manufacturing companies that had supported the Ogun State government, as it has

donated 200 cartons of Gala sausage roll, 2500 packs of groundnut chips and 2000 packs of coconut chips to support government efforts in providing food items to the poor, vulnerable and the aged in the state during the lockdown period.

          The State Deputy Governor and Chairman, Ogun COVID-19 Task force, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who received the items on behalf of the State government, appreciated the company for supporting with substantial quantity of its products, saying the distribution of relief items has been a major part of government’s response to the pandemic in the State.

          ’’We are now in the third week of the lockdown and apart from setting up the health facilities to provide succour and treatment for people afflicted with the disease, we have to deal with the welfare of our citizens as well. We have had series of hiccups in the distribution process and we have reviewed our strategy and going forward to ensure that we get better feedback from the people’’, she said.

          The Deputy Governor noted that what UAC has donated would complement what government had on ground, assuring the company of even distribution of the items alongside government relief items towards alleviating the sufferings of the poor, aged and vulnerable in the State.

          She reiterated government’s plan of providing relief items for up to 500,000 families across the State during the period of the lockdown and the process, she said was ongoing. 

          Earlier, the General Manager, Human Resources UAC food limited, Mrs. Dayo Adeeko, said the company has decided to support the State government by providing food for the citizens, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, which had affected the country and many people in terms of getting food, expressing optimism that the items would argument some of the food items being given to the citizens.
