Ogun State Government has taken its distribution of relief items to residents of Eyinwa and Ikise roads both in Odogbolu Local Government Areas of the State.
The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, while presenting the food items to residents of the areas said the items would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the poor, vulnerable and aged during the lockdown period.
"We are here on behalf of the State Government to present these items to you to assist the needy especially at this lockdown period, the government had called for a lockdown so as to reduce the spread of the virus in the state as well as manage the existing cases. We also want to implore you to maintain social distancing, use nose cover and maintain personal hygiene in oder to prevent further spread of the disease" she said.
The Deputy Governor stressed that the disease had become a rapidly spreading pandemic all over the world and government cannot but respond to the unprecedented situation in the state, adding that government was doing everything possible to make sure that it reduced the spread of the disease as well as manage the patients already suffering from it.
She however urged the citizens of the state not to violate the lockdown rules and not hesitate to report any suspected symptoms of the virus within their locality to the appropriate authorities for urgent attention.
