OGSG CHARGES FCDA NEW ENTRANTS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS

The newly employed into the Federal Capital Development Authority, (FCDA), Abuja, through Ogun State Job Portal, have been charged to be good ambassadors of the State.

The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the charge during the presentation of the eight candidates by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Lekan Olude, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying their employment was a proof of authenticity of the present administration’s policy on Job Portal creation.

Prince Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyodele, congratulated the candidates on their employment, reiterating that government was passionate about reducing unemployment in the State through the Job Portal.

‘’In creating the Job Portal, a lot of people believed it was a place to register and get government job; but let me say, it is a place to diffuse the employment situation, to understand what the challenges are and look at how best to solve it. I am happy that the creation of the Portal is yielding positive result’’, he said.

He assured that government would ensure employment opportunities were not limited to the State and national, but to international companies, to enable the indigenes of the State tap into other numerous offers available.

Earlier in his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Lekan Olude, said the vision was to ensure citizens of the State get employment that would better their lives, adding that the presentation of the candidates was an indication that the Portal was genuine.

In his remark, the FCDA representative, Mr. Seun Shomolu, noted that the employment was an attestation that government was keen in securing the future of youths in the State.

In their separate responses, Messrs. Yusuf Jamiu, Banjo Oladapo and Tijani Adewale, from Ado-Odo/Ota, Ijebu North and Abeokuta North Local Governments, respectively, appreciated the State Government for providing the platform to register and be employed, advising other youths who had not registered to do so, as the Portal was real.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of employment letters to the candidates.
