WE'LL CONTINUE TO DELIVER HEALTH CARE TO OUR CITIZENS -OGSG

Ogun State Government has said that it would not renege on its efforts in delivering efficient health care for its citizens, just as it said he would not hesitate to partner private and governmental organisations to achieve its Building our Future Together mantra.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele made this known while playing host to members of the Smart Brand Creative Hub Foundation (SBCHF) team, who paid her a visit in her office, saying the present administration in Ogun State had priortised the health and welfare of the citizenry.

Commending the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) for making Ogun their first point of call, Engr. Salako-Oyedele noted that the idea was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) initiative which other NGOs must emulate and charged the people to avail themselves of the opportunity to get tested and receive medication for their ailments.

"This government has done medical outreach like this in our three Senatorial Districts in September, where our people were told to go to their primary health care centres and not wait until the illness had progressed.

"I know that your decision to support our mission of building our future together agenda is a welcome development and we are glad that you have partnered with us to be able to deliver healthcare to the door step of our people" she said.

Earlier in his address, the team leader, SBCHF, Mr. Lukman Jimoh, noted that the result of survey carried out by his team in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the State, six months ago indicated that some residents of Agbara, Igbesa, Lusada and Ejila areas were infected with fungal and parasitic diseases, hence the need to join hands with government to embark on a medical outreach.

He added that as part of their community service to the people of the State, the group came up with a two-day medical outreach which would commence from 13th December, 2019, to render free health care services to residents in the area.

According to the team leader, the group would be giving out 500 mosquito nets, conduct free eye tests, to detect cataract, as well as carry out free eye surgery, deworm 500 children, screen people for hepatitis B, amongst others.
