WE' LL REPOSITION PUBLIC SERVICE FOR EFFECTIVENESS -GOV. ABIODUN

 Ogun State government says it is working towards repositioning the Civil and Public Service for efficient service delivery, for the people.

          The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, stated this while inaugurating the Committee on the Review of Appointment and Employment into the State Civil Service and Enterprises, between February 1 and May 29, 2019, in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
          The Governor noted that the State Public Service, renowned for its professionalism, commitment and dedication, would be provided with the right type of leadership to enable it performs optimally.
          "Ogun State Public Service is renowned for its professionalism, commitment and dedication and it occupies an enviable position in the comity of States in the nation. This is the State of Simeon Adebo and A. K. Degun, the State has produced giants who laid the foundation of public service in Nigeria", he said.
          Prince Abiodun stated that the feedback received by his administration on the appointments of some people into positions of responsibility was unsatisfactory, necessitating the setting up of the Committee.
          According to him, the administration was determined to build a solid manpower base of qualified people, adding that the Committee is to examine and review all appointments and employment into the Public Service, Ministries, Departments and Agencies and other related matters connected, between February 1 and May 29, 2019.
          He also noted that the Committee is to ascertain whether there are establishment vacancies for all posts and grade levels, to review and establish the procedures for appointments, in line with Public Service Regulations, afterwards, recommend appropriate course of action on the appointments and recurrence of such in future.
          The Governor called on the people to give members of the Committee, made up of qualified technocrats, adequate cooperation to ease the assignment before it and submit its report in the next four weeks.
          Responding, the Chairman of the Committee and former Head of Service, Mr. Dipo Odulate, lauded the Governor for being meticulous and not rushing to take action on any issue, pledging that the Committee was poised to work assiduously, transparently and be fair to all.
          Other members of the Committee included, Elder Sola Adeyemi, Alhaji Kehinde Ogunfowodu, Chief Jide Oyeti, Alhaji Ambali Isola, Mrs. Moyosore Olowonmi,  Mrs. Stanley Olufunmilayo, while Mr. Nurudeen Oyedele, would serve as the Secretary.
