Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the frontline Senator, Ayo Fasanmi, as a role model of proven integrity and an industrious leader, whose indelible works had contributed greatly to the nation’s development.
Governor Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, showered this encomiums on the nonagenarian, during a lecture commemorating his 94th birthday, with the theme, "Ayo Fasanmi: An Epitome of Consistency and Loyalty to Progressive Ideals", held in Oshogbo, Osun State.
"I wish you many more years to enjoy more fruits of your labour and also to be a beacon and guide for us, as we all go through governance. We will continue to support you as you age gracefully", he said.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the occasion, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, represented by former Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Ademola Seriki, described the celebrant as a rare politician with strong principles, diligent and an embodiment of good character with dignity, noting that his uncommon qualities had been a motivating factor for the younger ones to remain steadfast and courageous in nation building.
Delivering the lecture, the guest lecturer, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, described the celebrant as a man of unparalleled integrity, who had remained focused on his avowed commitment to progressive ideology and values.
In his remark, Pa Fasanmi thanked Almighty God for sparing his life and for His abundant mercies, stating that he was overwhelmed by the show of love and support by well-wishers, including traditional rulers, families and friends, who had come to felicitate him.
