ABIODUN RESTATES COMMITMENT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE

 Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has restated hisadministration's commitment towards ensuring good governance by being just, equitable and fair, irrespective of religion, political leaning, tribe or gender.

          Governor Abiodun, who made this known at a special Jumat Service to kick off activities celebrating the 59th National Day, at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, said, his administration was committed to improving the lots of the citizenry through even spread of dividends of democracy.

          Represented by his Deputy,  Engr.  Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor noted that his government had put in place security trust fund, where patrol vehicles and motorcycles were purchased for security personnel to guarantee safety of lives and property, noting that the people could now sleep with their eyes closed. 

          "Our government has put up some policies in place; we are going to improve job opportunities in the State. Recently, the Investment Promotion Council Bill was signed into law, to promote the ease of doing business and consequently improve employment opportunities for the youths.

          "We have set up a job portal, where the youths are encouraged to put their names for companies to have local content, so that job portal would be their primary source for the recruitment of their staff", he stated. 

          Abiodun noted that, the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, declaration of state of emergency in the educational sector, as well as the Oko'wo Dapo scheme, which was targeted at supporting women in the grassroots, with interest free loan, were all targeted to make life more abundant for the people of the State. 

          Also speaking, the wife of the Governor,  Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, appreciated the league of Imams and the people for supporting her husband in his mission to bring good governance to nooks and crannies of the State, urging all to continue to be steadfast in prayers, as this would help the administration to take the people to the promised land.

          In his goodwill message, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, urged Nigerians to always speak good of the country, desist from negative utterances, be patient and hopeful for better days, noting that, developed worlds were not built in a day.

          He added that the Boko Haram insurgency and other security challenges would soon be a thing of the past, commending the present administration in the state for its initiatives in agriculture and security sectors.

          Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi appreciated Almighty God for the privilege to see the 2019 National Day Celebration, praying that the State and the country at large would witness prosperity, peace and progress.

          Delivering the National Day Sermon, Dr. Taofeek Amolegbe, quoting from  Chapter 7 verses 55 to 56 of the holy Qur'an, said the present situation of the Country and the State required prayers and that people should pray fervently  as it attracts good rewards, adding that, prayer is an essential key for a prosperous and peaceful nation.
