The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the late Onijoun of Ijounland, Oba Rasak Adewusi as a passionate monarch who rendered selfless service to his people and the country at large.
Abiodun who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele stated this at the 8th Day Fidau prayer held in honour of the deceased in Ijoun, Yewa North Local Government Area, said the Kabiyesi served his people meritoriously to ensure Yewa was placed in its rightful position in the State.
"On behalf of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the good people of the State, we commiserate with the family, Ijoun and the entire Yewa on the demise of our monarch. Our Kabiyesi served in various capacities during his lifetime, he worked at the Nigeria Custom Service and also served at the House of Representatives for three terms, before he finally became a monarch. This is indeed an indication that the late Kabiyesi was passionate about the development of his people”, he said.
According to the Deputy Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun was committed to delivering his electoral promises to Yewa people, adding that plans were in top gear to renovate selected primary schools across the 236 wards in the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
Speaking on behalf of Ijoun Council of Chiefs, the Adele Onijoun, Chief Alani Olaleye appreciated God for Kabiyesi's fulfilled life, describing the late monarch as a master planner, who touched the lives of his people through the provision of basic infrastructure in the area.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ansarudeen, Ijoun Branch, Alhaji Ismail Atobaloye said the death of Oba Razak Adewusi was a rude shock to the entire Ijoun land, noting that death was inevitable, as men would die at their appointed time, irrespective of their prayers or religious beliefs.
Late Oba Rasak Adewusi died on July 2, 2019 and was buried on August 1, 2019.
