The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has restated the present administration's commitment towards providing qualitative education for its citizenry.
Engr. Noimot Salako- Oyedele who spoke while receiving delegates from Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGTECH), Igbesa, led by the Rector, Engr. Olufunke Akinkurolere in her office in Oke-Mosan, said the government would leave no stone unturned, at ensuring that all necessary support in terms of infrastructure and training of teachers, to guarantee standard in the educational institutions would be put in place.
"His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun wants to ensure that institutions created for our people function optimally. We want our youths to have access to well grounded education and what is important, is for them to also practicalise what they have learnt", she stated.
While commending the entrepreneurial section of the Institute for its various initiatives, the Deputy Governor added that it would afford the students to be gainfully employed, as well as be employers of labour, thereby boosting the economy of the State
She however allayed the fear of most graduating students, as arrangement had been concluded to officially launch a job portal, where people could register to get employed, noting that there was a limit to the number of workers State government could employ into the civil service.
The Deputy Governor added the job portal would be a pool for employers of labour to recruit, "What the job portal would do is to bring employees and employers together and people who have gone through vocational trainings can also be contacted. These are ways to improve opportunities for the youths to become employable and trained, as the portal would be used to train the youths through collaborative efforts with Industrial Training Fund (ITF)”.
While soliciting for more support, the Rector of the State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, Engr. Akinkurolere pointed out that the Institute presently run 26 fully accredited programmes, saying most structures on campus were constructed using the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Institution.
